personal mission statement
The company I worked for early in my career was led by a visionary CEO. Our management team "walked the talk" of TQM in an open corporate culture with clearly defined mission, vision, and values and allowed us to become a highly successful organization. I elected to create and apply my own mission statement to my personal/work life...'cuz that's how I roll.
to live life as an embodiment
of the principals I believe in:
Exemplify. People learn from example, not only from words.
Inspire. People shine when they believe they can make a lasting impact.
Have Faith. Faith is the cure to doubt.
Be a Do-er. Innovation is rewarded. Execution is worshipped.
Be true. People are attracted to honesty and have bullshit detectors.
Live. A life without passion is a life not lived.
Adventure. People need new experiences to expand their knowledge of reality.
Recognize, don't fear failure. People can learn from their mistakes.
Learn. Ignorance is fear of the truth. Truth is more important than pride.
Listen. People feel the need to be understood, just as, or even more strongly than the need to be loved.
Forgive. When you forgive, you are forgiven.
Empower. People shine when given the chance to create, express and grow.
Love. Love is stronger than death.
Lead. People and companies are driven by visions, not ideologies.
