This piece is a modern bronze sculpture sitting atop a circular domed shaped fountain. Sculptor James Bottoms created it as a gift to Puerto Vallarta from her sister city, Santa Barbara California.

The three dolphins in the monument are said to represent the brotherhood of the two cities and the friendship that unites them. Each dolphin appears to look in a different direction, one towards the city, one towards the sky and the other to the sea.
